Hydrogen peroxide injection is the muscle option for wells with heavy hydrogen sulfide or stubborn iron. A precision feed pump doses peroxide ahead of the treatment train, where it oxidizes sulfur and metals almost instantly — faster than chlorine, with less contact time, no chlorine taste, no residual, and no disinfection byproducts.
The peroxide is consumed doing its work; what remains breaks down to water and oxygen. Downstream, catalytic carbon captures the oxidized particles' odor precursors and polishes the water, and filtration removes the precipitated iron and sulfur. The result: rotten-egg wells that chlorine systems fight all day come out clean and odor-free.
Choosing between peroxide and chlorine injection is a chemistry decision — sulfur load, iron species, bacteria status, pH, and flow all vote. That's a forensic water analysis question, not a catalog question; on some wells the right answer is both tools in different positions.

Yes — properly dosed, the peroxide is consumed doing its oxidation work, and a catalytic carbon stage removes any trace before your taps. What reaches your glass is just clean water and a little dissolved oxygen.
It oxidizes aggressively and suppresses many organisms, but for confirmed coliform problems chlorine or UV is the disinfection benchmark. Heavy sulfur + bacteria wells sometimes use peroxide for the load and UV for the kill step.
